Victoria Folk Music Society presents Genevieve and The Wild Sundays

Soaring harmonies and catchy original songs are the trademarks of Genevieve and the Wild Sundays. Formed in 2013, the band is made up of Genevieve Charbonneau on vocals and guitar, Kelly Sherwin on vocals and upright bass, Laura Carleton on vocals and percussion, and Chandra Crowe on mandolin. The music is rooted in folk and old-time country, incorporating bluegrass rhythms, traditional folk, Americana, and pop.

Kelly and Genevieve are long-time members of the Balkan Babes, and Laura has performed and studied choral music for many years. Chandra adds her instrumental prowess to complete their signature sound. While Genevieve is the primary songwriter, Laura and Kelly also add original compositions and take turns on lead vocals.

The feature act will be preceded by what is arguably Victoria�s best weekly acoustic Open Stage session where musicians from fledglings to professionals can perform a 10 minute set for one of the most welcoming, attentive and participative audiences in town. Aspiring Open Stage performers can sign-up with the VFMS Host between 7:00 and 7:30pm to do a set but should get there early to improve their chances of getting on the evening�s line-up.
