Dave Harris hails from Toronto but has lived in Victoria since 1976. Best known as a busker (street entertainer), he has also performed in numerous bands and at clubs, concerts, and festivals up and down Vancouver Island.
A multi-instrumentalist and one-man band, Dave plays guitar, fiddle, mandolin, banjo, and harmonica, while operating drums and sometimes bass with his feet. His repertoire is substantial, encompassing folk, blues, bluegrass, country, and rock. Over his 36-year career he has recorded many albums containing both original and cover material.
Dave has been the subject of a Bravo TV special, Crowded at the Bottom, the title referencing one of his more humorous songs. Recently he published Head, Hands and Feet, the firstand so far the onlybook on one-man bands from around the world.

Our feature act will be preceded by what is arguably Victorias best weekly acoustic Open Stage session where musicians from fledglings to professionals can perform a 10 minute set for one of the most welcoming, attentive and participative audiences in town. Aspiring Open Stage performers can sign-up with the VFMS Host between 7:00 and 7:30pm to do a set but should get there early to improve their chances of getting on the evenings line-up.
