On January 5, 2014, our stage is graced by two singer-songwriters, each of whom has been making music since his preteen years. Sometimes taking turns and sometimes playing together, they will present a mix of original and cover tunes.

Based in Victoria, Christian Bergen is known for his energetic, upbeat performances. His music runs the gamut from folk to soft rock, sometimes with a country feel or a bluesy twist. Aside from paid gigs, Christian has performed pro bono for charities such as The Mustard Seed and the BC Children�s Hospital.

Born in Ontario, Iain Bell now makes his home on Vancouver Island. He is a folk and bluegrass artist with a smooth tenor voice and a guitar style that makes creative use of the capo to create an original sound. Before pursuing a solo career, Iain toured Canada and the United States with a variety of bands.

Our feature act will be preceded by what is arguably Victoria�s best weekly acoustic Open Stage session where musicians from fledglings to professionals can perform a 10 minute set for one of the most welcoming, attentive and participative audiences in town. Aspiring Open Stage performers can sign-up with the VFMS Host between 7:00 and 7:30pm to do a set but should get there early to improve their chances of getting on the evening�s line-up.
