add to outlook add to google calendar remind me
A recently formed quartet, Brishen aims to recreate the magic of Django Reinhardt, Stephane Grappelli, and the Hot Club de France, performing its West Coast version of Gypsy jazz with virtuosity and soul.
The band's frontmen are seventeen-year-old guitarist Quinn Bachand, who has received the Vancouver Island Music Award for Young Performer of the Year, and violinist Richard Moody, a veteran of the Canadian folk-music scene. Rounding out the band are Reuben Wier, who has played with the Mark Atkinson Trio and numerous other local bands, on rhythm guitar and vocals, and Joey Smith, a prominent local arranger and Victoria Conservatory of Music teacher, on bass.

Our feature act will be preceded by what is arguably Victorias best weekly acoustic Open Stage session where musicians from fledglings to professionals can perform a 10 minute set for one of the most welcoming, attentive and participative audiences in town. Aspiring Open Stage performers can sign-up with the VFMS Host between 7:00 and 7:30pm to do a set but should get there early to improve their chances of getting on the evenings line-up.
