Victoria Folk Music Society presents Adam Hill

Born in Ohio, Adam Hill has lived in Tennessee, Wyoming, Oregon, Washington, and New Mexico before making his home in British Columbia. Hes collected stories all along the way that get incorporated into his songs and patter: the drinking-and-driving taxidermist he met in Rock Springs, Wyoming; the armed auto robbery he witnessed in Winston-Salem, North Carolina; the Fourth of July spent dodging firecrackers and beer bottles onstage in Babb, Montana.
Adam is well versed in a surprisingly wide range of musical genres. Any given day might find him writing a classical score, tweaking electronic samples on his laptop, or performing the folk-roots music that has nurtured him since childhood.

The feature act will be preceded by what is arguably Victorias best weekly acoustic Open Stage session where musicians from fledglings to professionals can perform a 10 minute set for one of the most welcoming, attentive and participative audiences in town. Aspiring Open Stage performers can sign-up with the VFMS Host between 7:00 and 7:30pm to do a set but should get there early to improve their chances of getting on the evenings line-up.
