Victoria Folk Music Society presents-In Honor of the Founders: A 40th Anniversary Panel Concert

It’s hard to believe that 40 years have gone by since a group of folks got together and founded the Victoria Folk Music Society. The idea had been around for a while and came to fruition not long after Dave and Marjorie Cahill opened the Folklore Centre in the early 1970s.

NOTE: NO OPEN STAGE THIS EVENING

This evening is dedicated to, and features, many of those whose energy made it happen, performing songs they were playing back then. One of these is our feature-host Denis Donnelly, and he has tracked down the others: Rosemary Campbell, Alan Law, Colleen O’Brian, Jake Galbraith, Rick Van Krugel, Russ Godfrey, Martin Matychuck, Jean Burke, Jim Ham, Nathan Tinkham, Larry Scotten, Paddy Hernon, Virgo Rising, and a few more. Some, who are too far away to make the trip, will appear on video.
