Book for this month: The Inclusion Imperative: How Real Inclusion Creates Better Business and Builds Better Societies by Stephen Frost

Stephen J Frost was the first ever Head of Diversity and Inclusion for an Olympic Games - London 2012 (LOCOG). His team achieved unprecedented workforce inclusion across the 200,000 staff. With 9 per cent disabled, 40 per cent ethnic minority, 46 per cent female and 5 per cent LGBT staff, London 2012 saw mass participation by diverse groups. His team also pioneered new methods in procurement, achieving substantial cost savings and sourcing new innovative suppliers and ideas for the Games.

In this book, (available through amazon.ca both in paperback for about $30, and as an e-book for about $20) Frost, challenges pre-conceived ideas of inclusion and diversity and strives to inspire professionals and leaders, including those who would not normally engage in a diversity conversation, to tackle inclusion in their organizations with courage, creativity and talent. The Inclusion Imperative constitutes the best argument to convince skeptics that real diversity and inclusion can deliver more engaged employees and customers, increase productivity and better the group-decision-making process it is a critical leadership challenge of our time, regardless of the readers current beliefs around diversity.
