Last year’s session of Beer School with Ken Beattie was a hit, so we’re bringing it back. This is the most interesting history class you have ever taken. Beer has a long and interesting lineage and Ken Beattie from Eureka Beer Guide and Prud’homme Beer Certification will take you on a trip from the dawn of civilization all the way to the start of the Horseshoe Bay Brewery in BC in 1982. To properly illustrate his points, beers that have historical significance will be served.

Ken brings 25 years of beer expertise to Victoria Beer Week – we are honoured to have his knowledge, expertise and passion for BC’s craft beer community at #VBW2015.

$25 (plus tax) ticket to this event will grant:

- complimentary VBW sampler glass
- complimentary samples of 5 beers pertaining to Ken’s course

Important Points:

- Ken runs a powerpoint presentation; please be respectful and limit talking throughout the course
- Swans’ regular beer menu is available to be purchased throughout the course
- Swans will be providing a special offer lunch menu for attendees who wish to stay at Swans and eat between the two Beer School courses

Victoria Beer Week (March 7 - 15) is a nine-day series of events highlighting a broad selection of BC craft breweries while educating greater Victoria residents about craft beer. The week is bookended with large events that pair BC craft beer with local Victoria food vendors, with a clear focus on showcasing quality BC craft beer and educating beer enthusiasts.
