Vancouver Island Baseball Institute kicks off our 2014 home season with an Opening Day doubleheader vs. Thompson Rivers University.
VIBI competes in the Canadian College Baseball Conference. With teams based in BC and Alberta, the CCBC is Canada's premier college baseball conference. VIBI's roster includes players from across Vancouver Island, BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
VIBI alumni Adam Paulencu and Cody Phipps will be recognized and throw out the ceremonial first pitch on Opening Day. Both former MLB draft picks (Paulencu- SF Giants/Colorado Rockies, Phipps- Houston Astros) had outstanding careers at VIBI, and together were members of VIBI's 2010 CCBC National Championship team.
Admission is just $2, and fans are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food product for donation to the Nanaimo Community Food Bank.
Playing at Serauxmen Stadium, near the campus of Vancouver Island University, VIBI Baseball offers an exciting weekend family entertainment option for families and students alike!
