We have a great community of fibre artists in our province and Vancouver Island Fibre Fest was created to strengthen connections between them, while drawing ever more people into the wonderful world of fibre. What better reason for a festival!

Admission to the event is by donation although there is a charge for the workshops. Your donations help to support the Specialized Recreation programs that the City of Campbell River Recreation Department offers.

Come and shop in the Marketplace, enjoy a cup of coffee and lunch at the Fibre Café, watch some free demo’s and take in some incredible workshops: weaving, spinning, quilting, knitting, felting and needle felting. So much to see and do!

FREE DEMOS throughout the day on Saturday and Sunday plus a Children’s Corner so bring the family and introduce them to lifetime skills.

All profits from Fibre Fest are donated to the Specialized Recreation Programs offered by the City of Campbell River’s Recreation and Culture Department. The majority of people who attend these programs live on a fixed disability pension and have very little money for extras, such as learning new crafts. Our fundraising helps make these Specialized Recreation Programs affordable.

You can see the results of these successful programs at the Fibre Café and the Saturday Evening Reception. Students from our Specialized Recreation Cooking Basics class will be helping out in the Fibre Café, and students from our Specialized Recreation Sewing for FUN class will be hosting a mini show-and-tell at the Saturday Evening Reception. Come see first-hand how proud they are of their accomplishments.
