BookFest is a wonderful fun-filled day for children and adults alike. Renowned authors and illustrators from all across Canada are invited to share their work, tell stories about their creations and lives and inspire youth through literature and art.
On the day of BookFest, presentations are divided into three sessions of 45 minutes each. The presenters use a variety of techniques to inspire creativity and enthusiasm for books. Some may incorporate technology or story blankets, while others may leap and bounce about. The presentations are interactive and audience participation is common. Over the lunch hour there are all sorts of activities for the children to participate in. In the past we have had face-painting, puppet making, dress up, stilt walkers, bubble blowing, chalk art and musical performances.
Books are available for purchase and at the end of the day the children get a chance to meet their favorite presenters and have their books autographed! Join us on the 1st Saturday in May for this fantastic family event!
