After 20 years of drought, the citizens of Everytown are forced to pay a fee every time they use the bathroom, or risk being sent away to the mysterious Urinetown. Longing for the privilege to pee for free, young Bobby starts a revolution against the despotic UGC corporation. But social change brings unexpected consequences, and before long, everyone in town is swept into the fight. A dark comedy about love, ideals, betrayal and too much exposition. (Warning: This is not a happy musical.)
