University Course: Life and Death in the Viking World

Take this unique opportunity to join undergraduate students from the University of Victoria in examining the nature and impact of the Viking expansion in the North Atlantic (including the British Isles, the Faroes, Iceland, Greenland and North America) in the period defined rather broadly from c. 800-1300 AD. The social and ecological consequences of migration are explored, drawing on a variety of sources including archaeological data, saga literature, and historical sources. This course will take place at the Royal BC Museum and includes access to the exhibition Vikings: Lives Beyond the Legends.

Minimum Age: 18 years

This course, along with additional requirements and the regular tuition fee, is available for credit for registered UVic students (ANTH 398).
