With a bold and dynamic painting style, Gillian's paintings celebrate the roles and qualities of men - son, partner, brother, father, dancer, worker, warrior, sage. � My acrylic paintings are created with a theme of energy and movement. They show the seen and unseen strength and energies of the human body.�

Describing her painting style, Gillian is excited by the dynamic of movement. �Every line or brush stroke tells a story, and when I paint with a strong gesture or even a tentative line, the paint on the canvas will reflect that flow, and it becomes part of the visual image. I believe the dynamic of movement can be seen and felt on the canvas.�

Originally from Wales UK, Gillian Redwood lives in Victoria with a working
Studio at Xchanges Gallery and Studios. A lifelong artist and graduate of West of England College of Art, she continued her studies at St Ives School of
Painting in the UK, and more recently with Victor Arcega at Victoria College of Art.

While in Europe, Gillian was the co-founder of a rural Art Gallery in West Wales UK and had a Studio-Gallery in the renowned artist colony of St Ives, in Cornwall England. She then moved to Canada and opened her own Studio-Gallery in the Kootenays, in the Village of Nakusp. Now settled permanently in Victoria, Gillian is dedicated to developing her latest series of work. A receiver of numerous Grants and Awards, her paintings have been acclaimed by collectors both in Europe and North America.

The Gallery is open Monday to Saturday from 10am � 5pm at 712 Cormorant Street, off Douglas Street opposite the City Hall.

The Exhibition continues until Thursday, 31st October.
