Ukrainian Easter Egg Making - Pysanka
add to outlook add to google calendar remind me
Using a method of wax resist and dyes you will create stunning easter eggs that can last for years! The delicate art of pysanke is steeped in Ukranian tradition. And can be made very elaborate or nice and simple for all skill levels.
This class will be taught by Danna Lewis who has many years of experience in both Ukranian egg making and teaching.
We will have 8 egg stations set up and they will be available on a first come first server basis. 1 egg can be worked on at a time at each station. (you can work as a team on the egg though)
Cost is based on time at the stations. There is a min of 2 hours for $24 (or two dozen dollars for those in the mood ;) and then $10 for every hour after that. We suggest 4 hours.
Stations will be set up from 11am-5pm
You may book a station before the actual day by calling 250-591-4766.
All the supplies are included.
Important - Hot candles are used to heat the tools and wax up for this process and eggs are fragile by nature, so it is important that care is taken and that children, and adults for that matter, listen well and are safe. We expect a broken egg or two, it is par for the course but we will not tolerate any unsafe behaviour.
