UJAM presents a Jazz Vocal Workshop where participants will work with a live band and one-on-one with two vocal instructors on technique and performance skills.

Cost: Participants $75 Auditors $20

U-JAM is a non-profit organization dedicated to educate, mentor & advocate local musicians and in keeping with our mandate, we are offering a vocal workshop for budding and keen vocalists who aspire to sing publicly.

The participant will receive one-on-one instruction in vocal technique and stage performance by two respected musicians, Kim Greenwood & Maria Manna, along with a 3-piece band, the Craig Henderson Trio.

Tom Lee Music will have their pro vocal PA/recording specialist on hand that day. He will bring an assortment of live sound and recording microphones so participants can demo and ask questions.

The class is limited to the first 10 applicants. Each participant will receive their own personal instruction plus benefit from observing  the instruction for the other 9 participants.

U-JAM is also pleased to accept singers who wish to audit the workshop. There will be no opportunity for auditors to interact with the instructors, however, time permitting, there could be an opportunity for questions at the end of the performance.

The participant should be prepared to:

1.  bring 3 copies of ONE vocal lead sheet in their preferred key to work on during class and later perform

2.  have the lyrics memorized

3.  bring a lunch and be prepared to eat and learn at the same time (there may be no time for breaks)

4.  participant fee is $75.00/audit fee $20.00
