This session will give an overview of History, Colonization, and Residential School to set the tone for "now what". Discussion and experiential exercises will help us to recognize our own limitations, biases, and barriers for implementing transformation with an extended knowledge base Moving forward requires each of us to be personally responsible for our perceptions and actions. The presenter,Tammie Wylie “Tsim a thea” is currently a consultant to the management team for Tillicum Lelum Aboriginal Friendship Centre, an Urban Aboriginal Organization providing Health Care, Social Services, Education, Justice and training for both Aboriginal and non- Aboriginal people. Tammie is of Coast Salish and Danish ancestry. Bridging two cultures within her work and life has enhanced Tammie’s opportunities for learning and developing in both Western Society and Aboriginal traditions.
