Trio Jérôme Beaulieu, Emma Frank & the Kelby MacNayr Quintet perform at Hermann's Jazz Club on November 9.

Trio Jérôme Beaulieu has toured the Jazz festival circuit in the summer of 2014 establishing their reputation within the community. Selected as CBC Jazz Revelation in 2013/14, they were awarded for their performance at both the Montreal Jazz Festival and Festi-Jazz in Rimouski, QC.

Emma Frank has been under the radar of many Montreal jazz enthusiasts for the last couple years. Originally from Boston, she established residence in La Belle Province to pursue her studies 9 years ago. Her second album, The People We’re Becoming, was just released on Montreal’s new jazz label Studio 270.

The Kelby MacNayr Quintet brings together five of the West Coast’s leading jazz musicians to explore the dynamic and captivating music of drummer/ composer Kelby MacNayr. MacNayr has performed with some of the greatest names in jazz including Regina Carter, Neil Swainson, Marianne Trudel, John Clayton, Geoffrey Keezer and Ingrid Jensen.

The KMQ brings ground-breaking new music to the fore while inviting audiences into a new and exciting world of sound and rhythm. MacNayr draws on diverse influences to create fresh and exciting music with electrifying improvisation.

The KMQ’s latest release The Measure of Light has received airplay and accolades across Canada the US and Australia uniting some of the world’s best creative musicians, engineers and producers to create a truly exceptional album.
The album features multi-Juno Award winner Phil Dwyer, trumpeter Daniel Lapp, pianist Miles Black & bassist Tom Wakeling and a unique collaboration between MacNayr and pop-music icon and celebrated producer Gino Vannelli.
