NANAIMO, BC - Direct from music festivals in Los Angeles and San Francisco
Featuring virtuosi - violinist Luanne Homzy, guitarist Tommy Davy, and bassist Marlon Martinez, Trio Dinicu plays a wide range of music drawn from the traditions of Gypsy/Manouche, Jazz and Classical music.
Fresh from music festivals in Los Angeles, these professional 20-something musicians will play for the first time in Nanaimo as part of their British Columbia tour with stops including a 2-week residency at the Music By The Sea Festival in Bamfield and concerts in Tofino and Victoria.

Luanne Homzy
Internationally acclaimed violinist Luanne Homzy is highly sought-after for her technical facility, sensitive musicality and broad versatility. She has performed concerti with orchestras such as the Montr�al Symphony Orchestra, the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra and the Colburn Chamber Orchestra, and has served as concertmaster for the American Youth Symphony and the Colburn Orchestra. Ms. Homzy has collaborated with artists such as Arnold Steinhardt, Franklin Cohen, Paul Coletti, Ronald Leonard, Niklas Schmidt, Steven Dann, Richard Lester, Ani Kavafian and the Tokyo Quartet.
As a founding member of the Saguaro Piano Trio, first prize winner of the 1st International Chamber Music Competition Hamburg, she has toured Germany, New Zealand, Australia, the USA, Canada and Japan. Recordings include a full-length album with the Saguaro Trio, live recitals and studio sessions for �Radio-Canada�. Festivals Ms. Homzy has performed in include the Bari International Music Festival, Ravinia�s Steans Institute, Music By The Sea at Bamfield and the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival. Non-classical engagements include world-wide appearances with jazz ensembles and recordings for pop artists such as Layla Lane, Michael Damien and Jerry Lee Lewis. Ms. Homzy composes and arranges jazz, popular and world music for classical ensembles. Recent works include her arrangement of �Caprice No. 24 With A Swing� - an audience favorite - premiered in Italy in June 2012.
Tommy Davy
Whether it�s French waltzes, poignant interpretations of gypsy folk music, or the swinging standards and original pieces featured by Django Reinhardt and the Hot Club of France, guitarist Tommy demonstrates technical mastery, compositional creativity and sensitivity beyond his years. At just 25 years of age, he has already performed internationally with the greatest masters of the Gypsy Jazz Genre, such as Opus 4, Serge Camps, Florin Niculescu, Tcha Limberger, Lolo Meier and Andreas Oberg. His vast repertoire also includes Romanian, Hungarian Yugoslavian and Russian traditional folk music. He is one of the rare few who can deftly navigate this uncommon musical language. Since 2006 Tommy has toured nationally with David Grisman, Stephane Wrembel, Angelo Debarre and Robin Nolan to name a few.
Tommy Davy performs on an original 1937 Selmer, a 1971 Jacques Favino, and instruments by French luthier Christelle Caillot.
Marlon Martinez
At the age of 21, Marlon Martinez is a versatile double bassist. Growing up in Southern California, he is currently a Bachelor�s degree candidate at the Colburn Conservatory of Music in Los Angeles, where he studies with Peter Lloyd. In 2010, Marlon was chosen to participate in the highly selective Verbier Festival Orchestra in Switzerland. During his two-year summer membership he performed under the baton of Charles Dutoit, Valery Gergiev, Neeme J�rvi, Rafael Fr�hbeck de Burgos and Yuri Temirkanov among others. Marlon has also participated as principal bass in the 2010 Fortissimo Fest in Sofia, Bulgaria with maestro Maxim Eshkenazy. Marlon Martinez has studied jazz improvisation with renowned bassist and composer Stanley Clarke, since February 2006.
