Tour de Rock: Fact into Fiction
add to outlook add to google calendar remind me
Local authors Kay Stewart and Chris Bullock will tackle the question of how they turned fact into fiction at the launch of Tour de Mort, a crime novel loosely based on the inaugural Tour de Rock in 1998.
Former Saanich Police Constable Martin Pepper, mastermind behind that event, will be a special guest. In writing the novel, Stewart and Bullock interviewed Pepper and several other riders, attended Tour events in north island communities and elsewhere, and also researched various aspects of cancer, including environmental causes. This research is seamlessly integrated into a suspenseful novel in which RCMP Corporal Danutia Dranchuk investigates a series of sinister "accidents" threatening the Tour and discovers a web of evil that has enmeshed people close to her.
The book will be available for purchase and signing. Partial proceeds will be donated to the Tour de Rock.
