Tiger Moon, a three-piece Jug Rock/Folk group, and singer-songwriter Joshua Smith, perform at the Duncan Showroom on May 22.

Tickets are available in advance for $12 at www.showroomproductions.ca/buy-tickets and for $15 at the door.

Tiger Moon is a three-piece Jug Rock/Folk group boasting harmonious sounds, heartfelt melodies and foot stomping rhythms. Performing with a guitar, mandolin, bass and three voices, they draw their sound from Traditional Folk, Canadiana, Soul, Rock and even Reggae. They are a minimalist barn-burning band with syrup soaked harmonies. The band has released two EPs and performed over 350 shows already as a duo, and are currently in pre-production of an album with their three-piece outfit. Tiger Moon will be touring Canada through 2016 again as a three-piece, and are eager to get into the nooks and crannies of Canada!

Tiger Moon came to be when Kasey Graff and Dan Tait found each other downtown Kelowna. They instantly had chemistry and began performing together at jam nights. Shortly thereafter, the couple fell in love and began putting together set lists and wowing crowds with their rich, harmony-driven sound.

In September 2013, the pair sold all of their possessions and put their treasured belongings in storage to undertake a massive tour around North America; playing, sharing and broadcasting their music to every town they stopped in. They traveled for nearly seven months (in a 1981 Volkswagen Westfalia!) - and over 22,000 kms - circumnavigating North America and constructing a unique, powerful drive to make music along the way.

Kelowna was waiting for their return and they started performing at many different venues; pubs, golf courses, wineries, yacht clubs, on the streets, coffee shops, parties, ceremonies, theatres and even an early morning set at a local bus stop. They spent the winter hosting a jam night and honing their craft at Snowshoe Sam's at Big White Ski Resort - arguably one of Canada's most popular ski bars.

With their second EP entitled Mama Nature’s Finest released in June 2015, the couple packed up again to tour across Canada, this time by train. From Vancouver, BC to Halifax, NS they have shared their music and stories with people on and off the train, eventually making their way to the big beautiful rock of Newfoundland.

Now back at home in the Okanagan, the duo has become a trio, with the addition of Taylor Gross on bass, percussion and vocals. Taylor is a welcome addition to the group, adding rich harmonies and warm tones. Download their latest EP Mama Nature’s Finest and don’t miss this trio live.

Joshua Smith
What one could suggest as being a soul-inspired, captivating experience, Joshua is a singer/songwriter who mingles catchy clever lines and infectious vocals in the company of playful story telling. With a nod to “Motown”, Joshua Smith captures tradition and folk-friendly modernism with his songwriting prowess.

Imagine if Marvin Gaye, Hank Williams & Paul Simon took a trip to Nashville.
