The Strathcona Little Big Band has been quietly building a reputation on the North Island as a seriously fun group of musicians dedicated to first class performance of jazz and swing music. Founded four years ago, the group covers full arrangements of tunes that span the jazz and big band charts- from Glenn Miller to Miles Davis and everything in between! The Strathcona Little Big Band is based in Campbell River and has performed in a wide array of venues on the North Island. Seventeen members strong, this dynamic ensemble draws musical leadership from notable and recognizable local musicians and is proud to accompany the well-known local vocalist and music teacher Amy Lelliot through a number of melodies.

The band is delighted to have the opportunity to anchor an evening of jazz and swing music in support of the Tidemark 25 Capital Campaign fundraising efforts. They are also very pleased to be able to share the stage with their musical friends from Courtenay, the accomplished and highly successful Georgia Straight Big Band, under the direction of Greg Bush.
