From October to May, beachcombers can discover glass treasures in Vancouver Island's Oceanside region. Our army of Float Fairies will drop and hide more than 300 handcrafted glass floats and hundreds of other dazzling glass sea creatures...starfish, seahorses, sand dollars, scallops.. above the high tide line on beaches stretching from Nanoose Bay in the south to Deep Bay in the north. And anyone who finds one can keep it! Those finding special “starred” floats will also win a fabulous prize donated by local merchants and even those without a star will be able to enter a prize draw by taking their treasures to the Parksville Visitor’s Centre.

The glass treasures are being produced by local artisans in an effort to bring their art to the people and to create a fantastic new off-season event to draw visitors to the region. As Tidal Treasures grows, it is anticipated that it will become a widely known annual event that will benefit tourism related businesses in our trading area.
