This independent local food market started in 2011 to provide a sales venue for farmers and shoppers alike. It is located in the heart of South Cowichan at the Cobble Hill Hall, in the field, and the market group works closely with the Cobble Hill Farmers Institute and Agricultural Society. New vendors and shoppers are welcome to inquire to join and continue growing a lively place for local foodies. Eating local and natural food from farmers and wild foragers, as well as from local bakers/cooks/preservers is a cornerstone to health, both for humans and the environment, and supports diverse economies. And perhaps the best reasons of all is to have fun shopping outdoors, getting to know the producers, and the food tastes great!
