TheatreWorks: The March of the Innocents

TheatreWorks Centre for Performing Arts returns to Miners Memorial with an original play: The March of the Innocents.
In 1903, Mary "Mother" Jones organized the March of the Mill Children, a hundred-mile trek to draw attention to the plight of working children and others in the textile industry. The March of the Innocents will inspire us to feel hope that change is possible when courageous peoples stand up, link arms, and speak truth to power. However, it also forces us to ask: are working children truly a thing of the past?
"In Georgia where children work day and night they have just passed a law to protect songbirds. What about the little children from whom all song is gone?"
—Mother Jones
