TheatreOne is excited to present again this year a full slate of children’s theatre offerings to Nanaimo’s family audiences. Our Just Kidding for Kids series is celebrating its 23rd season with three new presentations of professional touring shows performed at VIU’s Malaspina Theatre.

First up, Juno winner Norman Foote will share the stage with local elementary school students who form a creative and colourful choir in a spooky, fun Halloween show, The Howl on Friday, October 13 at 10am & Saturday, October 14 at 1pm.

Next up is the classic fairy tale Cinderella by Dufflebag Theatre Company on Saturday, February 10 at 1pm. This interactive re-telling wonders if Cinderella is destined for a “happily ever after”? Only if the shoe fits!

The final show is part of Festival Nanaimo, Robinson Crusoe + Friday by Axis Theatre Company on Friday, March 16 at 10am and Saturday, March 17 at 1pm. An English sailor, shipwrecked on a remote island, works against all odds to survive alone for 25 years. This imaginative retelling emphasizes empathy and cultural diversity.
