. In the headlines; Winner of the Vancouver Island Marathon Should be Committed, The Port Alberni Lottery Winner Needs a Math Class Refresher and A Sneak Peek into the life of the Gingerbread man after his story is over.

Come see exactly how much you can buy with a lottery win, learn the importance of eating your Yucky Muck, and find out why you should be very careful with magic gum drops.

The Works 2013 In the News is a script written by Wendy Karpuik and D M Larson where the STAGES Youth Theatre Program students become the characters in the stories that are reported by Stages News reporters. This show is full of humour and it is a family friendly show that Grandma and kids will both love. Just make sure Grandma doesnt leave wanting a Fabio tattoo.

The STAGES Youth Theatre Program is an after school drama program for youth ages 4 to 16. The STAGES program is in its fifth year and is the brainchild of Program Director Teresa Drew. The performing arts are so important to a small community. says Drew We want to make sure that children have access to the Performing Arts and so many kids want to be a part of drama programs. STAGES is a great way to involve youth in all areas of the performing arts (both on stage and backstage) and to learn the lessons and skills that come with it.

The Works In the News hits the Capitol Theatre stage on Saturday December 14th at 1:00pm and 7:00 (doors open at 12:30 and 6:30). Admission is $10 at the door only (children 12 and under, accompanied by an adult are free), and seating will be first come first serve. Come out and support the Dramatic Arts and the youth of your community.

If your child wants to come be a star in the STAGES Youth Theatre Program, we will be taking registration for the January semester.
