Bring home your own piece of the past at Ross Bay Villa Historic House Museum. Joan Byers is an instructor and member of the Canadian Bookbinders and Book Artists Guild. She will discuss the basics of traditional bookbinding and will assist participants in creating a small, sewn, multi-signature, cloth covered book with methods commonly employed during the Victorian era. Although basic bookbinding techniques will be the focus of this session, Ms. Byers will also touch upon some of the alternative, more complex techniques typically utilized by professional bookbinders.
The cost of this workshop is $50 and includes all tools, materials and refreshments. Registration in advance is required for all participants through our website at www.rossbayvilla.org.
