Many other great artists round out this lineup which will presented upstairs in our cabaret venue and in the lower speakeasy stage. all our gormet local sponsors will be on hand to keep you refreshed and fed and the Swing Dance association will be on hand teaching dance workshops and judging the competition - Always and audience favorite!
Saturday night headliner - The Gonzalo Bergara Quartet. A master guitarist originally from Argentina, now residing in California, Gonzalo Bergara is at the forefront of the modern Gypsy Jazz genre. Marc Atkinson Trio, Daniel Lapp, Dennis Chang, The Capital City Syncopators and Sound of Light Circus act round out the Valentine's weekend event. The Hot Club of Paris tradition is the perfect way to fire up the heat in the midst of winter, and since 2012, the festival has grown from a one-night, one-off event, to a two-day, sold-out extravaganza of the very best in local and international Gypsy Jazz and modern manouche.
Saturday night promises an epic experience with the Opera House Stage (concert-style) in St. Andrews Church and Hot Club (dance party) in the Kirk Hall, with The Gonzalo Bergara Quartet, The Marc Atkinson Trio, Dennis Chang, The Capital City Syncopators and perhaps a special guest or two. The whole event is as usual, topped off with delicious food and drink from local sponsors Hoyne Brewery, The Whole Beast, The Hot and Cold Cafe and Famoso Pizza, as well as dance competitions hosted each night by The Swing Dance Association of Victoria. In addition, performing both Friday and Saturday this year are Sound of Light, a fire-spinning circus act combined with thrilling flamenco guitar.
Returning as a part of the event this year is Djangocamp, an afternoon workshop with the fests feature Djangologists The Gonzalo Bergara Quartet, at Larsen Music. The workshops are for anyone who wants to learn or practice the style, but space is limited! Interested students may contact 250-389-1988 ext 320 for more information and to sign up for the camp.
