Salt Spring Island joins the global movement to stop violence against women and girls. On February 14th, we will be one of thousands of places around the world channeling our creative energy into making a difference as part of the V-Day Campaign.
The women of our community are uniting to perform a benefit production of Eve Ensler’s award-winning play, “The Vagina Monologues.”
A whirlwind tour of a forbidden zone, “The Vagina Monologues” introduces a wildly divergent gathering of female voices, including a six-year-old girl, a septuagenarian New Yorker, a vagina workshop participant, a woman who witnesses the birth of her granddaughter, a Bosnian survivor of rape, and a feminist happy to have found a man who “liked to look at it.”
All profits from our event will be donated to IWAV – Island Women Against Violence.
