The Universal Gospel Choir is a multi-faith, multi-cultural community choir based in Vancouver, British Columbia. This exciting ensemble has been bringing the healing and uplifting power of the world’s sacred and social conscience songs to diverse audiences since 1985.
Aaron Scoones is a refreshing young vocalist who studied in Victoria with Louise Rose and in Boston at the Berklee College of Music. He draws his inspiration from contemporary jazz vocalists like Kurt Elling and Bobby McFerrin, and soul gospel artists such as Take Six and Kim Burrell. Local musicians like Ron Hadley and Daniel Lapp have often featured Scoones in their shows and consider him to be a real treasure with deep talent and a warm, engaging stage presence.
