Saturday, April 26th, 2:30-4:30pm, Princeton Traditional - The Songs and Lives of West Coast Loggers
One of the songs, "Way up the Ucletaw", includes the sound (recorded in the early 1950's) of a tree being felled with a hand saw. We will be focusing on the songs and lore of west coast logging. We have some fabulous historical photos to accompany the presentation and we will also bring a rusty old swedesaw and a double-bitted axe to show. One presentation of about an hour followed by questions and a sing along. We have a lot of sea shanties that are wonderful for getting audiences singing along.
