Have you ever been curious about the meaning and purpose of minimalist art and how it fits into the context of art history? This course will explore Minimalism and Post-Minimalism as well as the impacts of Pop art, Russian and European design, and the International Style on the era’s vocabulary of expression. Artists covered include: Frank Stella, Eva Hesse, Donald Judd, Carl Andre, Richard Serra and Robert Morris. Course will include lectures as well as class discussion and related readings. Suitable for beginners.
