Jokes and innuendo, slapstick antics, mistaken identities and general hilarity. VIU Theatre students will present their talents for all this and more in The Servant of Two Masters. Enjoy a night at the theatre with this play by Carlo Goldoni written in 1745 in the popular commedia del'arte style.
Clarice's dreams of marrying her true love are shattered when the man she was originally promised to seemingly returns from the dead. What no one realizes is that the returned fiancé, Federigo, is actually his sister Beatrice in disguise. Beatrice's plans work well — until her sneaky servant, the trickster Truffaldino, signs on to serve two masters in the hope of double wages and double dinners. Chaos and hilarity ensue.
The Servant of Two Masters is adapted and directed by Ross Desprez.
