Each year, a talented team at First Metropolitan United Church adapts a classic morality tale, creating a multi-sensory experience of music, dance, drama and visuals to delight the eyes and ears of the audience and inspire spiritual reflection on the meaning of the Christmas season.
Expect to be surprised by this imaginative new theatrical adaptation of Oscar Wildes timeless tale The Selfish Giant. A Giant banishes the village children from his garden until an unexpected series of events and a small boy help to change his selfish heart. Through physical theatre, dance and song, an inter-generational cast and choir bring this classic story to life.
The team leading the adaptation includes Will Weigler, Adaptation and Staging, Fran Pollet, Music and Mona McGill and Allyson Leet, costuming. They bring together a large cast of all ages, including members of the FirstMetropolitan United Church congregation as well as a culturally diverse group of dancers, actors and musicians from the broader community.
