The Quartet features Ryan Oliver (saxes), Andrew Janusson (gtr.), Dr. Tony Genge (keys) and Joe Poole (drms).
Ryan is well known nationally and internationally as one of the leading tenor sax players in North America. He is also equally as gifted with the flute and soprano saxophone!
Ryan has played with many of Canada's finest players as well as being part of the Shuffle Demons and toured with them throughout Canada, China, Thailand, Japan, India, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Aruba, and USA This is a first class combo and sure to leave some exciting musical memories behind them. He has Performed as leader and sideman at most of Canada’s major Jazz Festivals in Toronto, Montreal, Edmonton, Saskatoon, Regina, Winnipeg, Vancouver, Markham, Orillia, Barrie, St. John’s, Halifax, Ottawa, Victoria, and Calgary, and the famed Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland .
He currently teaches saxophone to students throughout Vancouver Island and instructs student and adult jazz combos in Victoria. Oliver has worked as an adjudicator for the Fraser MacPherson Scholarship (which he also received in 1998) and the Victoria and Powell River Jazz Festivals. In 2017, Oliver took over as the Executive Director for the Comox Valley Youth Music Centre (CYMC), Canada’s longest running music camp.
