THE REALLY BIG SING-ALONG MESSIAH
Here’s your chance to sing, warble, trill and even whistle the most famous choruses that usher in our festive season! Join hundreds of other Messiah-lovers to our REALLY BIG SING-ALONG MESSIAH. Our most recent Sing-Along Messiah brought together a chorus of almost 500 singers along with soloists and orchestra. This year we want to really ‘raise the roof’ of the Port Theatre with the loudest, most joyful sound of the ‘Hallelujah Chorus’ along with all of your other beloved choruses.
Our stellar quartet (Eve-Lyn de la Haye, Deanna Sills, Adam Schmidt, Louis Dillon) is back again. They have enthusiastically jumped at the chance to recreate their solos from 2023 and sing with our musical friends, the Nanaimo Chamber Orchestra, led by Karl Rainer. Trumpeter Merrie Klazek will herald us for ‘The Trumpet Shall Sound’ and ‘Hallelujah Chorus’. You can find our guest artists’ biographies on the choir’s website, www.malaspinachoir.com.
Fiona Blackburn conducts the chorus – all of you! – as we celebrate the music of George Frederic Handel’s treasured masterpiece. So dust off your Messiah score (or purchase one at the Port) and join us at for this joyous event.
