The rumours are true.... The Progressive Polygamist are coming This high power comedy is written and performed by Comox Valley own Emma Gordon, along with fellow actor and co creator Pippa Mackie. 2011 Pick of the Fringe in Vancouver , 5 star review in Saskatoon Fringe ,a "A" rating in Toronto Fringe ... these talented actors have got it going on
What would it be like if your best friend was your sister-in-law, AND your husbands wife? "Join these sweet sister wives from a BC polygamist society, in this satirical comedy, as they reform their way across Canada revealing their side of polygamy, the real side. WE ARE HERE TO GIVE YOU THE FACTS! Through audience participation, Polygamist research, character mash ups, jump rope, history, and song, the Progressive Polygamists shine a new light on this topical and controversial community, that leaves audiences wondering the right and wrongs of polygamy and its role in Canadian society today.Let there be no doubt though, that this show is a full throttle, interactive, intensely sweet comedy, that has been stylistically compared to the work of Daniel MacIvor and the best of SNLs female comedians. In all certainty, the Toronto Fringe Festival audience will be in hysterics over the antics and highjinx from two of Vancouvers most promising upcoming performers, Emmelia Gordon and Pippa Mackie, as the loveable sister wives, Mercy Eve and Eden Grace. Destined to be a hit of the festival, Toronto fans of comedy and theatre will not want to miss this rare opportunity to see this exciting new work."writes Toronto's Megan Mooney of Mooney on Theatre.

Growing up in the Comox Valley Emma Gordon ( now using her proper name Emmelia) was involved in many aspects of school and community theatre .Starting with Rainbow Youth Theatre with Mr. Jim Rickson in her early years, Karen Dawson at Lake Trail , gradating on to Ms Lori Mazey at Vanier along with family involvement with Courtenay Little Theatre's Gail Limber and Deb Wiens, Speech arts with Eleanor Phillips, joining Kymm Patricks Theatreworks , singing her heart out with Carol Anne Parkinson then moving on to Cantiamo family with Jenn Reily .... Emma loved and loves them all . When planning for her life after high school she had only eyes for theatre school . She was accepted in the prestige Langara Collage Studio 58 and has been a working actor in Vancouver since graduating from Studio 58, In 2009 she won a Jessie Richardson Award for outstanding performance in Green Thumb production Of The New Canadian Kid . In the Comox Valley we are so very lucky to have so many great performance artist that live here or have had their start here. The community support goes beyond our fair valley. It seems like a large extended family where you are a director, teacher, front of house, sewing costume or an audience member. Kim Cattral, Pamela Anderson, Gig Morton, Jennifer Mawhinney,Tracey Powers ,Brandon Fletcher, Denman's own Barry Pepper along with David French of Broken Social Scene are just a few Comox Valley performers. Will Emmelia reach the fame that some of them have achieved ?It is unknown but I am sure Emmelia's desire and commitment is equal to none . We all have had a part .
"Two Wrongs That Write" theatre company creators are the dynamic duo and team of Pippa Mackie, a graduated of The National Theatre School, and Emmelia Gordon. Both co-writer and performers of this award winning play The Progressive Polygamist. Having first meet at The Clutch Ignite Youth Festival where Pippa's Mom loved Emmelia's work and Emmelia's Mom loved Pippa work, At a later audition they connected through their similar comedic improve style ..... One thing lead to another and the theatre company Two Wrong That Write began. This a rock 'em sock 'em funny show and it starts the moment they arrive on stage .... Hold on to you funny bone as the laughter starts ..... Chris Gauthier of Vancouver Plank Magazine writes "Music, cookies, and audience participation/coercion by two masters of the lightning ad lib all await those who wish to take the trip to Plentiful. Every person in the opening night audience seemed loudly appreciative of the trip. Certainly one of this years must see shows.
