Nov 8 : �The Power of the Pencil� Poetry Workshop with poet/activist Sheila Peters, at the Poetry Yurt at the Commons from 2 to 4pm
This interactive workshop will trigger ideas and create a series of group poems on issues you care deeply about.
Bring your current cause or burning issue, your indignation and your idealism, your pet peeve or fierce frustration�and together we'll subject it to the power of the pencil.� Limerick or lyrical, satirical or serious, our light-hearted word games will have us dazzling them as we �speak out� in rhyme.
Suggested donation: an arm-load of firewood to warm the Yurt, a thermos of tea, or snacks to share. Sponsored by Friends of the Library.
