A Canadian Musical Journey Featuring music by Raminsh, Willan, Somers, Dent, Hemsworth and others.
An all-Canadian programme celebrates Canada's 150th birthday. The major work is Newcombe Conductor Peter Dent’s Canadian Requiem Op. 108 - a work written in 2003 and based on six Canadian folk songs using some of traditional liturgical text. Other works include the gorgeous Ave Verum Corpus by Imant Raminsh, well-loved favourites such as Four Strong Winds and The Log Driver’s Waltz, and more. From coast to coast, from sacred to folk, Canada's rich heritage expressed in song!
