We are very happy to announce that the Nanaimo Music Association (NMA) Big Band will be raising the roof at the Simonholt Restaurant.
The NMA Big Band has been a constant musical feature in Nanaimo and on Vancouver Island since 1967 under the leadership of its original founder Bryan Stovell, who still leads the band and this for almost sixty years!
There is nothing quite as exciting as a Big Band in mid-flight! This nineteen piece band, whose musical prowess is well known in Western Canada and way beyond, will take us through an exciting repertoire of traditional and contemporary jazz music.
The band has nurtured some of Canada's leading jazz players in its long history. Such musicians as Dianna Krall, Phil Dwyer, Ingrid and Christine Jensen and in recent times a new wave of up and coming players, as well as many players who have been part of the Big Band for many years.
Tickets are $25.00 (students, Quadwrangle Regulars and NIJFA Subscribers $20.00) Available from Simonholt (250) 933-3338, or online at https://square.link/u/66KeglIe
