Our next show in the 2023 series of jazz shows being hosted at the Simonholt Restaurant is the amazing NMA Big Band, Feb. 26th. 7:30pm. There is nothing quite like a Big Band to raise the nap on your neck and the NMA is well practiced at this!
The legendary NMA (Nanaimo Music Association) Big Band, under the leadership of Bryan Stovell, has been entertaining its audiences for close to 60 years! Through its musical doors have passed such performers as Diana Krall, Phil Dwyer, and Ingrid and Christine Jensen, and among its recent alumni, players like saxophonist, Connor Stewart, trumpeter Jon Bauer, guitarist Jesse Marshall and drummer Graham Villette, have continued an excelling history. No passengers in this band!
