The Klez play music filled with love and longing, minor chords, and heart-felt joy! Born in a crossroads of many civilizations, Klezmer music includes the haunting qualities of Jewish, Balkan, Turkish, Eastern European, Greek and Gypsy music. Alluring rhythms and exotic modes can change several times, even within one song. The melodies often combine happy and sad themes that reflect the nature of life. The Klez also play Sephardic music; lovely ballads of the Jews who were driven out of Spain in the 15th Century. This is foot tapping music, rich with stories of hope and survival, and traditional folk songs sung in Hebrew, Yiddish and Ladino. So don’t miss out on this exceptional evening of music!
The Upstairs Lounge is an all ages licensed restaurant. Doors open at 6:00 pm so you can enjoy dinner before the show starts at 7:30 pm
