VISOA (The Vancouver Island Strata Owners Association) presents several seminars each year to inform and educate owners of condos, townhouses or bare land stratas. At this seminar, Shawn Fehr from Seafirst Insurance will speak about "The Ins and Outs of Strata Insurance".

Common questions will be covered such as: 
• What does the strata corporation's insurance cover?
• What does the unit owner’s insurance cover? |
• What about earthquake insurance?
• Why have premiums risen?
• Why is the deductible so high – can we get it lower?
• Who pays the deductible?
• Is there a difference between being “responsible” and being “negligent”?
• Why is loss assessment coverage important?
• The claim is very low – should we still call our adjuster?
• Does the strata council need Errors and Omissions coverage?
• What about Volunteer Accident Insurance?
• Do we need WorkSafe coverage?

Followed by Q and A session with Shawn Fehr and David Grubb, VISOA Helpline

This seminar is Free for VISOA members who pre-register from Sept 1-15th. $10 at the door for VISOA members who have not pre-registered. $20 for non-members who pre-register and pay from Sept 10-15th. $30 at the door for non-members who have not pre-registered.
