The Future of the Fiddle

Four pre-professional fiddle groups from the Yukon and BC will come together in Nanaimo on the weekend of February 8-9-10 to develop their music and performance skills and also build new friendships in the first ever West Coast Youth Fiddle Summit.
Participating ensembles this year are the North Shore Celtic Ensemble (N. Vancouver), Coastline (Victoria), Fiddeheads (Whitehorse, YT) and Fiddelium (Nanaimo).
The four groups will participate in workshops on Friday and Saturday, and the weekend will culminate with a gala concert featuring a solo set by each group as well as exciting mass ensemble numbers.
Repertoire for the show is drawn from a diverse range of fiddle styles from all over the world. This will be a dynamic and heartwarming show for all lovers of live music.
