The Cowichan Green Community is pleased to host, The Future of Farmland and the ALR in BC: An Evening with Richard Bullock and Harold Steves.

An opportunity to hear from two prominent figures in the BC food movement, Richard Bullock, the former ALC Chair, will outline a brief history of the Agricultural Land Commission (ALC) in BC and address the implications of the latest changes made to the ALC. Harold Steves, the ‘father’ of the ALR, will address what local government can do to promote local agriculture and address threats made to the Agricultural Land Reserve (ALR). A Q&A will follow their presentations.

Doors will open at 5pm. The event will run from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. Admission by donation.
