The Fitting Room - Victoria Fringe Festival

Five people converge in a department store fitting room, all connected to the accidental death of 13-year-old Noah. A young boy’s mistakes influence the trajectory of his future. A teen girl comes out to her best friend. A mom learns to let go. All affected by Noah’s death in various ways, this dramedy is about how we keep moving in the face of loss and adversity. “Every word in this script feels true — and deeply moving, often funny and brave. Ellery Lamm and Anna Marie Anderson are a perfect match. Not to be missed.” — Joan Macleod (Governor General’s Award winning playwright)
The cast and crew is comprised of emerging, local artists, most of whom are current or recent graduates of Uvic. The Fitting Room is part of Victoria's Fringe Festival 2018 and it premiered last year at Intrepid Studio to sold-out crowds. It is a play that deals with universal themes: guilt, grief, and growing up. It also focuses on queer identity, Judaism, and loss of faith. While this show is enjoyable by any audience, Ellery (playwright) and Anna Marie (director) are particularly hoping to reach out to teens in Victoria.
