A little taste of Christmas with the Felton Brothers: Enjoy a cup of hot chocolate, snuggle in with your family, and surround yourself in Christmas spirit. Performing everything from favourites like White Christmas, to an original arrangement, these brothers will have you laughing and humming along to the familiar feeling of a family Christmas.
Growing up in a musical home, Zander and John have sung every kind of Christmas song imaginable. They first performed together five years ago in the Cowichan Music Festival and have each gone on to follow their musical passion at university. They find there is an indescribable connection when singing together: “there is no greater bond than ours.”
Zander is in his third year of vocal performance at UVIC. Most recently he played Gabe in Next to Normal at Langham Court Theatre. John is in his first year of the Opera Program at UBC. His last role was Gilbert Blythe in the SIMTS production of Anne of Green Gables. They are excited to be singing at home for Christmas.
We understand that Christmas time can be difficult, as well. We hope that this light we share will go further than one night. Our proceeds from the concert are going to the Cowichan Valley Branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association. The CMHA provides incredible support through a variety of programs, including affordable counselling, emergency housing, and education about mental health. Help us spread the Christmas Spirit beyond ourselves.
Tonight, the brothers bring you a variety of their favourite carols and jazz tunes, and they bring it with just enough silliness and love of Christmas for everyone. We hope you will leave the concert feeling “light hearted, happy, and more connected with the people you came with.” Come and share in the Christmas Spirit with us.
