This year the Company One class of the Stages Youth Theatre Program will be putting on the production of The Diary of Anne Frank. The cast consists only of young student actors, directed by Teresa Drew. The actors don't just take part in the acting part of the show; each of them also takes part in one of the backstage aspects in the production of a play. This year they have been fortunate enough to be a part of the of The Portal Players Dramatic Society season, which means yes, you can use your season tickets to come see the show.
The Diary of Anne Frank is a true story of a young Jewish girl who is given a diary for her birthday, then shortly after has her life turned upside down. The story takes place during World War II when Jewish people are seen as inhuman. Because of this, the Frank family, the Van Daan family and a dentist named Mr. Dussel are all forced into hiding together until the war is over. The play is all about these people trying to cope with living together in a small annex, while living in fear that the Nazi's could come in and take them away at any moment All of the people who are a part of this production have been working extra hard to make this a fantastic show for you to see.
Show dates are April 8th, 9th, 15th and 16th at 7:30pm with lobby doors opening at 6:30pm, and April 10th and 17th at 2pm with lobby doors opening at 1pm.
Tickets in advance are $20 for adults and $15 for students and seniors. Tickets at the door are $25 for adults and $20 for students and seniors.
