Launch Pad Theatre Company presents The Charming of the Shrew, adapted from William Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew. Elegantly cut to an hour. Tastefully fitted to the castle.

Perfectly tailored for you. It's not Shakespeare as it would have been seen. It's Shakespeare as it SHOULD have been seen! Enjoy a 1920's Parlour evening at the stunning Craigdarroch Castle as part of a brand-new Bard in the Ballroom series. You are invited to come in your snazziest cocktail attire and enjoy an evening of classy entertainment, a complimentary glass of bubbly, and a beautiful re- imagining of one of the Bard's most well-loved comedies.

Following a sold out run of their Halloween production, Arkenham Abbey; “Pick of the Fringe” and “M Award” winners, Launch Pad Theatre Co. will bring in the spring with this feverish, fast paced farce, perfectly tailored to the Ballroom of Victoria's only Kingdom for a stage. Cocktail attire is encouraged (no stilettos please).

Adapted by David Radford (Tara Firm and the Lunar War Chronicles, Dracula-The Blood is the Life), this fresh take on the Shrew stars Radford and his real-life partner Christina Patterson (Lieutenant Nun) as Kate and Petruchio, one of Shakespeare's most passionate, riotous and irresistible couples. Co- directed by Radford and Graham McDonald (The Pillowman, Shining City) this new Shrew also stars Paul Oppers (Derwin Blanshard Show), Monica Ogden (Paper Street Theatre Co, Shakespeare by the Sea), Jared Gowen (Arkenham Abbey), David Biltek, Graham Croft, Kara Flanagan, Foley artist Emma Dickerson, and costume designer Martha Burd, to woo you in this waggish and witty farce. Launch Pad is a multi-disciplinary; Victoria based Theatre Company that intricately crafts original dynamic theatre, diverse in scale, subject, and medium. Bard in the Ballroom is a fresh take on classic plays with a Kingdom for a stage.
